Group reflection on Archimede's Principle.

We practically have reach the end of the study of Archimede's Principle. I, Haida , Fatin, Syafiqah and Asmidah are here to tell that we understand almost 80% of the whole Archimede's Principle and the project we have been doing. This project makes us more alarmed at Archimede's principle questions.. We really appreciate the hardwork of Pn. Wahida on teaching us . Thank you Pn. Wahida for accompany us till the end.

SPM 2010 question.

9. a) weight = force/area
    b) 1. - The weight of the father is heavier than the boy.
            - The volume of water displaced by the father is more than the boy.
            - The buoyant force act on the father is more than the boy.
        2. - When the water displaced increase, the buoyant force increases.
            - When the weight of water displaced increases, the buoyant force also increases.
        3. - Archimede's Principle.
    c) -When the wooden block is submerged in water, the buoyant force is greater than its weight.
        - Hence the buoyant force puches the block upwards.
        - This occurs until the block reaches the surface when the weight of water displaced, the buoyant force
decreases and becomes equal to the weight of the block causing it to float.
   d) 1. Streamline shape- to reduce water friction.]
       2. Light material - use light material like bamboo to make it float.
       3. Large size raft - so it is easier to accommodate participants.
       4. Tie the bamboo - tie the bambooin layers. Put motor at the end of the raft to increase the speed of the
           raft.

Based on the study of buoyant force and the hydrometer, i finally know what is hydrometer, what is the use of hydrometer and how the buoyant force effect the boat and ships. Just now i realized the existence of safety line on boats and how heavier people affect it. Thank you to Pn. Wahida for giving me such a chance to improve myself and experience of using the application on daily life. Thank you.

                                                                                                    - Nur Haida C.M.A @ SMSM X. -
I understand what i read and learn about the hydrometer and buoyant force. However, i still have an unclear settings on the formula .

                                                                                                                        -Syafiqah Azhar-
I understand the concept of buoyant force. Buoyant force depends on mass of an object. Therefore, i know how to use hydrometer in this experiment and also the formula.

                                                                                                                -Nurul Asmidah-

Self reflection.

I understand about the buoyant force and i also know how to use a hydrometer. Besides that i also know to use the formula when i need it.
                                                                                                                    -Nur Fatin Nazifah-
6. a) The hydrometer is used to detect density.
    b) The purpose of having lead shot at the bottom of the hydrometer is to keep the hydrometer upright.
    c) The hydrometer is calibrated in such a way that the readings of the scale is increasing downwards because
it consist of  a tube with a bulb at one end. Lead shots are placed in the bulb to weigh it down and enable
        the hydrometer to float vertically.
